In an unexpected turn of events, Sirus has chased after Oscar out of the shipwreck and straight into a trap! But will it be enough to hold him? Toon in Thursday to find out!

Sunday Update

If you haven't notices, there have been a few changes.

When I resumed production on the webcomic this year, I had vastly changed as an artist. So, I quickly built up a buffer of comic strips, in which I experimented with more intense lighting and texture use. Then I turned my focus to a far more important visual aspect of the webcomic, character design. If you've liked us on Facebook , you may have noticed I've started posting Character cards as a much more visually appealing guide and description of the cast. (this also helped with overcoming some technical glitches on the website in which text was displaying in uneven sizes, or many extra line spaces would appear between the character image and the description) As I did these, I took the time to officially update the character designs to my current style. Our main character Oscar, especially, has gone through many changes since he was first conceptualized. So, along with the character cards I've updated the website banner! Below is a comparison of the original banner and the new one.

Yup, I've completely updated the logo too!

I hope you like the updated look, and expect to see them implemented in the actual webcomic in the coming weeks, as we near the end of our epic story arc. Stay Tooned!

Bonus Saturday #15

Reaction Images

Over the next few Bonus Saturday's I'll be sharing individual panels from past strips that can be used as reaction images or as image bases for memes. Link me to your posts if you used it, I'd love to see them in action!

Next up is the third panel from "Trouble with Trout: Part 1", in which Oscar looks to his left in shock. Great for derpy shocked, surprised, or disbelieving reactions.

Escape

A tight squeeze.

Oscar's making a break for it through a porthole in the ship! Sirus tries to squeeze through after him, but its a tight fit. He makes it out, but something's stopped him in his tracks. What has he seen? Toon in next week to find out!

Witty banter is the cornerstone to any villain.

Reaction Images

Those of you who frequent tumblr or various online forums and message boards, should be familiar with vast libraries of reaction images and gifs, taken from TV shows and other media, used for humorous effect in response to other posts online.

First off is the fourth panel from "Trouble with Trout: Part 2", in which Little Becky looks yearningly through the glass into the fish tank. Great for, "I WANT IT" or "I NEED IT" reactions.

The shocking truth is made clear when our hero Oscar comes face to face with the last king of Aquaria, a... slightly damaged barrel. It seems the once confident goldfish has had the kegs kicked out from under him. Will he be able to recover and defeat Sirus? Toon in Thursday to find out!

Sirus:

The scourge of the fishtank, Sirus considers himself a great mobster boss. He spends his time in the pirate shipwreck on the other end of the tank, while sending out his lackies for food. He prides himself on looking menacing, and over the years has developed a thick coat of soot over his once shiny golden scales.

Sirus Trouble

And the penny drops.

Our frightening new enemy has revealed a most shocking revelation.Oscar is not the first king of this fishtank. But what happened to the others? Toon in Tuesday!

Caught

Two fish are better than one.

It seems Lok and Khee have found our little intruder, and taken him hostage. But what of their mysterious boss, Sirus? Toon in Thursday!

Bonus Saturday #12

Our villainous fish in their pirate shipwreck, in all it's evil glory.

I actually finished this piece back in January of 2011, and it's sort of been my motivation to make it to the end. I didn't format it for any particular desktop size, so you may have some extra edges. I hope I can design some more major set pieces in the future.

Flashback

I figured TLDR was too obscure to post as an acronym.

We ease you back into the main story arc with a flashback to our “hero's” first encounter with the bullies of the fish tank.

I actually set my regular strips to grayscale from time to time to check the contrast and composition. I think I actually prefer them that way, but all my work coloring would go to waste. See the colored version exclusively here.
